Conference Day 1
8:30 am - 12:25 pm A SERIES OF WORKSHOPS AND PRESENTATIONS PROVIDED BY THE FRAUNHOFER ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING ALLIANCE
The Fraunhofer Additive Manufacturing Alliance integrates seventeen Fraunhofer institutes across Germany, which depending on their main focus, deal with subjects concerning additive manufacturing and represent the entire process chain. This includes the development, application and implementation of additive production processes as well as associated materials.
Collaborating closely with national and international partners, the alliance develops new rapid strategies, concepts, technologies and processes to enhance the performance and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises. Its advanced rapid methods and tools enable it to support all major sectors of industry including aerospace and automotive industries, mechanical engineering and machine tools, medicine and medical engineering.
· Learn how the use of generative processes where components made of powders can be produced in very complex shapes from 3D CAD data – which can then be applied in the implementation of rapid product development in prototyping, single and small series production as well as in the production of tools for injection molding and die casting tool inserts
· Hear quantitative case studies into how Fraunhofer are using modelling and simulation to analyse dynamic processes from a physical and engineering perspective to develop solutions for industrial applications
· Gain a comprehensive understanding of how the Fraunhofer AM Alliance - the largest interdisciplinary European alliance of competence for high-speed processes –is enabling individual manufacturing of products made of metals, plastics, ceramics and other materials - apply its learnings into your own manufacturing process
12:30 pm - 5:00 pm EOS WORKSHOP AND FACILITIES VISIT HELD AT EOS’S TECHNOLOGY CENTRE
EOS is the world’s leading technology supplier in the field of industrial 3D printing of metals and polymers. Formed in 1989, the independent company is pioneer and innovator for comprehensive solutions in additive manufacturing. Its product portfolio of EOS systems, materials, and process parameters gives customers crucial competitive advantages in terms of product quality and the long-term economic sustainability of their manufacturing processes. Furthermore customers benefit from deep technical expertise in global service, applications engineering and consultancy.
EOS is delighted to invite the conference attendees to take the unique opportunity to visit our Metal and Polymer Showroom at the Headquarters of EOS in Krailling, near Munich. Split into groups of 20, EOS will guide you through the two showrooms giving you the chance to see the full range of EOS systems working live. The tours provide a fantastic context for this year’s conference, looking at metal as well as polymer systems including numerous applications and a live demonstration of the EOS insitu monitoring tool with optical tomography (OT Exposure) and how this supports quality assurance for DMLS parts.
Between the tours EOS will offer the opportunity to participate in two different workshops offering delegates an exclusive opportunity to have one to one discussions and gain ‘Know How’ from EOS Experts. Lunch will be served in the EOS cantina
